Great all round *****

We stayed here as a couple for 4 nights in January. Firstly it’s bigger than it looks from the front street facing the canal, it wraps all the way around and reaches the street behind. Check in was super easy as it’s done on a computer in the foyer. (The only down side is we had an early flight and couldn’t get in until 3pm. However we dumped our bags and explored in that time) We were initially put in a first floor room overlooking the back street which was lovely. However the noise at night was too much so we asked for a move. Expecting the usual push back and mither we were really happy with the staff at reception who moved us straight away to the opposite room overlooking the middle of the hotel, no view but absolutely no noise so we were made up. Again the room was lovely, clean and cosy. Downstairs in the hotel there’s a mini market where you can come and go 24/7, swipe and pay yourself. It has numerous beers, alcohol, snacks and toiletries, we found this so handy. Also downstairs is the bar area which again we loved, as it had a really chilled peaceful atmosphere and each day on returning we’d half the walk back to the room with a cold drink. All the staff at the hotel, reception, bar, house keeping were really friendly and helpfully. We thank them so much for making our stay so memorable. The hotel location was great, a short 5 minute walk from all the commotion with each route scattered with bars and restaurants. And just behind the hotel was Rembrandt square lined with restaurants and bars. Also here was the tram stop where you can get one every few minutes to central station. All in all a great hotel, great staff and great location, would 100% recommend and return.

Hygiene

The hygiene or the room was poor. Dust on the bed frame (next to your head). The mirror next to the bed was dusty and dirty. The toilet seat was not properly clean-I had to clean it a little bit before I use it. The walls are thinner than a paper. In the morning when the housekeeper is cleaning the room close to you,you can hear it like is in your room. They are so loud (like bulldozer ) -that means no sleep. For these money is not worth it. The only benefit of the hotel is that is close to the central. Nothing more special. P.S. there is no fridge in the room. I will not come back for sure .

A Gem

Fantastic location, so easy to walk to all places of interest. The staff are all so friendly and welcoming. We were in a superior double and the room was beautifully presented and impeccably clean. The bed was super comfy. Breakfast gave us a fabulous selection, varied and suitable for everyone. The coffe machine was fab too! Overall a definite treat for my birthday

Would come again

Nice staff, VERY clean and good location. We arrived and the staff helped me “self check in”. It looks small from the outside but is a very large hotel with a lot of rooms. We walked everywhere and there are lots of places to eat nearby as well as pubs and coffee shops. There is an excellent little Chinese restaurant at the back of the hotel called Tasty Asia and a nice pub called Gollum! Just don’t forget that you have to pay tax when you check in which for us two was just over £60 so not to bad. We would definitely stay again.

A lovely hotel with friendly and helpful staff

A lovely hotel with friendly and helpful staff. They couldn't do enough for you. Located in the ideal location, on Amstel. It's a 20ish minute walk into the center of Amsterdam (25 minutes to Central Station) and around a 20 minute walk to the Heineken and the Van Gogh Museum. Some lovely restaurants around the area and the hotel backs onto Rembrandtplein, which features clubs and other restaurants. The National Opera and Ballet is on the other side of the water. I stayed in a twin room with canal view and lucked out with the 5th floor overlooking Amstel. The view was stunning. I slept with the curtains open so I could look out overnight. The room was spacious and the bathroom was in good nick. Great facilities in the hotel, including a mini self serve supermarket (including a Starbucks coffee machine) and air hockey and a pool table. I didn't get a chance to eat at the restaurants or explore much further, but overall had a great experience at the hotel.
