What a Great Stay!

I stayed at the Eden Hotel for four nights as part of a women's travel group. The accommodations were comfortable. The staff members were all very pleasant. The location was very convenient to the tram and metro. There are many restaurants to choose from within walking distance. I had a great stay!

Okay but could do better

Nice position for exploring Amsterdam. Staff were friendly and welcoming but do not think this was value for money. I was there for 6 days - my room was not cleaned from Wednesday until I left on Friday. It was also frustrating not to have a restaurant onsite and having to find a place each night after a heavy day of work was exhausting.

Great hotel

The staff are really friendly and helpful, the hotel is situated in a excellent position in Amsterdam with easy walking distance of the main attractions, the breakfast is continental with a good variety of food. Rooms are clean and functional although we found the lighting to be poor in our room and the coffee machine was not very good. Down stairs bar area is excellent with very friendly staff, we found that the hotel drinks were cheaper than local bars which is a positive, they also have a self serve shop if you feel a bit peckish in the night.

Well located but interesting room lay out!

We were in the apartment (890) with the hotel and access is a via a separate front door so you don't really feel part of the hotel at all. The apartment itself was ok (furniture was a bit of an eclectic mix and quite tired) but the layout was far from ideal in that the bathroom connected the two bedrooms. This is itself was a bit odd but what made it worse is that there is no door from the main bedroom to the bathroom - hence zero privacy for anyone in the bathroom if anyone is in the main bedroom - see photo for view from the bed into the bathroom! Other than that the hotel seemed ok - its well located and staff were helpful but we didn't use the restaurant or the bar so can't really add much.

Views and stairs

We stayed in the apartments next door to the hotel. Staff in the hotel received us kindly and took care of us, and were responsive when we had questions during our stay. We were on the top floor of the building. If you want to understand Amsterdam living and experience stairs that are just shy of being ladder, this is the place for you. We loved it. Made better choices about going and not forgetting anything. But the view of the river, comfy beds and the (adult) kids having their own space was perfect. I would ask for better lighting in the bathroom, but that is my only comment.
