Lovely stay at Eden Hotel

What a beautiful hotel for our stay in Amsterdam! Excellent location centrally located near great shops, restaurants, and so easy to hop on the tram. Our room was tidy, well appointed (loved having the Nespresso machine), quiet, and comfortable. It was great to have a convenience shop in the hotel lobby to be able to run down for some snacks and drinks anytime. The bar was so cozy and the bartenders very friendly. We would definitely recommend Eden to friends and would love to stay here again on our next trip to Amsterdam!

Good hotel for a base for Amsterdam

Hotel is in a good location. Staff are helpful. The room is a good standard, generally clean. The bed was comfy and there was access to hot drinks and water in room. I used the self service kiosk to check-in and it was easy to use and straight forward.

Great hotel, location and friendly staff

A great place to stay in Amsterdam if you want somewhere a little quieter away from the main city centre. On arrival we had a couple of issues with breakfast not being added to our reservation as initially requested when booking and the incorrect room type given but staff quickly changed and upgraded this with no problems at all. The room was lovely with a huge bed and massive, fluffy pillows in the end. We had a gorgeous, 4th floor canal view that we could open the windows out onto that made it feel like a balcony and a coffee machine in the room with Nespresso pods that was helpful first thing in the mornings. Bar and shop prices a little expensive (25 euros for two double vodkas seemed steep) and the breakfast buffet had a good range of items to choose from but would have been better having some veggie/vegan-friendly options like baked beans or plant-based sausages. Despite a couple of glitches I would still recommend this hotel for its location, comfort and friendly staff.

Over booked and ended up in a dungeon

I feel as though we may have booked during a very busy time but that still doesn’t mean that our booking shouldn’t have been upheld. Me and my boyfriend arrived at 7pm to be told our room was still being cleaned, we were then told that we had been upgraded in terms of our room which rang alarm bells because we had booked an executive double room. We had been given a twin room facing the canal. We then spoke to the receptionist who then showed us a room that was not within the hotel saying this is a spare room that they have free. At the time after a long day of travelling it almost felt like it was either we took the room or there was nothing else. It was really disappointing and my and my boyfriend spent the 2 nights we were there basically in the dark in our room as it was on the ground floor and were afraid that people could see in so kept the curtains closed. As well as cobwebs in various places in the room. We never went into the main part of the hotel for the amenities that we initially booked it for.It almost ruined our trip but we made the most of the difficult circumstances.
