Great location and reasonable price.

Great location. Price was right. Breakfast value was fine. The meal choices were exactly the same each of three mornings. Hotel was clean, easy to access, staff was friendly. Bring ear plus for sleeping as sound carries throughout the rooms.

Outdated, inconfortable, overpriced, and dishonest client communication

Very bad experience with the Eden (very far from being a paradise) in Amsterdam where we stayed for 3 nights with our 2 teenagers. This starts with the reservation: I booked through e-mail to make sure we have 2 double rooms nearby. I was given a price list in table which title was "2 rooms". Below this table, there was several mentions in small characters. I thought the price provided was for both room (which corresponded to an average of 250€/night - not unreasonable for a room booked 3 months in advance). I reconfirmed the price by email and confirmed the booking. When we arrived at reception late at night the first day, we were asked to pay 1000€ more as the price provided was apparently for 1 room only. The reception desk recognized that communication was misleading and told us the manager will solve this the next day. Unfortunately this was not the case, and we were first offered a cookie and a drink at the bar (quite insulting), and after we argued we were only given a rebate of 140€ without ay recognition of the situation. Then comes the hotel if we judge it on the basis of a 400€ double room per night:  - The rooms are outdated and have not been renovated since a while.  - Wallpaper is creepy and not clean.  - Our double bed mattress was not straight (sort of whole in the middle) and unconfortable. - Windows do not isolate from outside noise, which can be a real issue if the room is on the street side - No toiletries, no mini fridge (strange for a 4* hotel at this price tag) - No room cleaning (only once every 3 nights, so no cleaning since we stayed only 3 nights) - The bathroom (toilets in the bathroom) has no proper door: a glass door that doesn't really close with a 3cm gap always open. No privacy at all.  We are heavy travellers and don't care about luxury places. We prefer boutique hotels to large hotel chains to find more 'local flavors' and authentic experience. But we do care about being treated in a honest and fair way and we also care for the value for money. The Eden hotel is by far the worst exprience we had in the last 20 years. To be avoided, surely much better opptions in town.  The only plus: good location, but there is hundreds of hotels in the same area and this is not enough to make an even average experience.

A Decent Stay at Eden Hotel - Great Location

I stayed at Amsterday Hotel recently, and overall, it was a pretty okay experience. The location is definitely a highlight—it's super convenient for exploring the city. You can easily walk to lots of attractions, restaurants, and shops. The amenities are decent. The rooms are clean and have all the basics you need. The staff were friendly and helpful, which made my stay more comfortable. However, I did have a bit of an issue with the bed. It wasn't the most comfortable, and I found it a bit hard to get a good night's sleep. That was a bit of a letdown, but it didn't ruin the entire experience. Overall, Amsterday Hotel is a good option if you're looking for a place that's centrally located and has the essentials. It's not perfect, but it gets the job done.

What a Great Stay!

I stayed at the Eden Hotel for four nights as part of a women's travel group. The accommodations were comfortable. The staff members were all very pleasant. The location was very convenient to the tram and metro. There are many restaurants to choose from within walking distance. I had a great stay!

Okay but could do better

Nice position for exploring Amsterdam. Staff were friendly and welcoming but do not think this was value for money. I was there for 6 days - my room was not cleaned from Wednesday until I left on Friday. It was also frustrating not to have a restaurant onsite and having to find a place each night after a heavy day of work was exhausting.
